(The secret in fly fishing is that you cast the LINE, not the lure.) One time, I had an expert fly casting master give a seminar at one of my retail establishments back in the early 1990s. He stressed that "force" would NEVER cast a further line than "finesse" and "good control." Everyone at the seminar, including myself, was using muscle and effort and strength to brutally get that line extending in front of us. Needless to say, even the best casters there looked like toddlers compared to this genius of an expert. With just a flick of the wrist and a slight motion forward with the are, nothing else - no massive body motions or effort of any kind - he placed his line a good 30 to 40 yards beyond the rest of us. The trick was CONTROL, not force. And the control came from KNOWLEDGE. So KNOWLEDGE PRODUCED THE POWER THAT WAS NEEDED.
